Pidgeot

Pidgeot is card 24 of 64 in Jungle, released in June 1999, a Rare. It is a Stage 2 Colorless-type with 80 HP.

As a Stage 2, it evolves from Pidgeotto, which places Pidgeot deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.

Illustrated by Kagemaru Himeno. Himeno is one of the most-recognized vintage illustrators, with a softer, more textured style that shows up across the Jungle and Neo runs.

The card's flavor text gives Pidgeot a line of lore: "When hunting, it skims the surface of water at high speed to pick off unwary prey such as Magikarp."

Based on recent eBay sales, raw copies trade from $6.1 to $16 depending on the print and a PSA 10 trades around $350. The 1st Edition print is the most valuable, with a PSA 10 near $350. The table on this page breaks the price down by print and grade, updated 2026-05-27.

Jungle shipped in 1st Edition and Unlimited, with no Shadowless print. The Edition 1 stamp under the artwork separates the scarcer 1st Edition Pidgeot from the Unlimited copy. The set also has the famous No Symbol error from its first print run, which adds a premium when the lower-right set symbol is missing.

On Pidgeot, look at the corners and the framed border first. Non-holo Rares took more handling than the chase holos, so a sharp, centered copy of Pidgeot in a true PSA 10 is harder to find than the print run suggests.

For Pidgeot, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Non-holo Rares from this era are cheap enough that a PSA 10 submission on a clean Pidgeot can make sense.
