About the Lapras card
Numbered 25 of 62 in Fossil, released in October 1999, Lapras is a Rare, a Basic Water-type carrying 80 HP.
As a Basic Pokémon, Lapras needs no prior evolution to put into play, which made it a practical card in the era's decks.
Illustrated by Ken Sugimori. Sugimori is the lead character designer of Pokémon itself, so his card art carries the tight, on-model look that defined how the creatures appear in the games.
Lapras carries this Pokédex flavor text: "A Pokémon that has been overhunted almost to extinction. It can ferry people across water."

Print variants and how to spot them
Fossil shipped in 1st Edition and Unlimited, with no Shadowless print. The Edition 1 stamp under the artwork separates the scarcer 1st Edition Lapras from the Unlimited copy.
Grading and condition
On Lapras, look at the corners and the framed border first. Non-holo Rares took more handling than the chase holos, so a sharp, centered copy of Lapras in a true PSA 10 is harder to find than the print run suggests.
If you are collecting Lapras
For Lapras, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Non-holo Rares from this era are cheap enough that a PSA 10 submission on a clean Lapras can make sense.
