The holos that matter
Dragonite leads on scarcity in high grade, and Gengar leads on fanbase, with the most iconic artwork in the set. Behind them, Lapras, Aerodactyl, and the three legendary birds, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, form the next tier. The rest of the holos, including Kabutops, Hitmonlee, and the quirky Ditto, fill out the run and are scarcer in PSA 10 than their fame suggests.
Why Fossil is hard to grade
Fossil holos used an inconsistent foil printing and a surface that scratches easily, so PSA 10s are scarce across the entire set, not just the chase cards. The practical consequence is that a mid-tier Fossil holo in a true 10 can be scarcer than a more famous holo from another set. Check the pop report before assuming a card is common because the Pokémon is not a headliner.
