Hypno · Legendary Collection, what to know.
About the Hypno card
Hypno is card 25 of 110 in Legendary Collection, released in May 2002, a Rare. It is a Stage 1 Psychic-type with 90 HP.
As a Stage 1, it evolves from Drowzee, which places Hypno deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.
Illustrated by Ken Sugimori. Sugimori is the lead character designer of Pokémon itself, so his card art carries the tight, on-model look that defined how the creatures appear in the games.
The card's flavor text gives Hypno a line of lore: "When it locks eyes with an enemy, it will use a mix of psi moves such as Hypnosis and Confusion."
About Hypno in the Pokémon world
The fully evolved Drowzee. Holds a pendulum. Unsettling design. Fossil holo Hypno is a sleeper. Its art is one of the more striking in the set.
What is Hypno worth?
Hypno is a non-holo Rare. In Legendary Collection, value concentrates in the holo rares, so a Hypno trades modestly, though a clean, well-centered 1st Edition copy in PSA 10 is scarcer than the print run suggests and carries a real premium. Check the live price above for the figure by grade.
Print variants and how to spot them
Confirm the print and finish on Hypno before pricing it, since variant and rarity set the market more than the card name alone.
Grading and condition
Non-holo Rares like Hypno are easier on surface but no kinder on centering. Wizards-era cards were less protected than the holos, so high-grade Hypno survivors can be scarcer than expected, with edge whitening the usual cap.
If you are collecting Hypno
For Hypno, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Non-holo Rares from this era are cheap enough that a PSA 10 submission on a clean Hypno can make sense.
