Victreebel

Victreebel is card 30 of 64 in Jungle, released in June 1999, a Rare. It is a Stage 2 Grass-type with 80 HP.

As a Stage 2, it evolves from Weepinbell, which places Victreebel deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.

Illustrated by Ken Sugimori. Sugimori is the lead character designer of Pokémon itself, so his card art carries the tight, on-model look that defined how the creatures appear in the games.

The card's flavor text gives Victreebel a line of lore: "Said to live in huge colonies deep in jungles, although no one has ever returned from there."

Based on recent eBay sales, raw copies trade from $7.29 to $11 depending on the print and a PSA 10 runs from $180 to $300. The 1st Edition print is the most valuable, with a PSA 10 near $300. The table on this page breaks the price down by print and grade, updated 2026-05-18.

Jungle shipped in 1st Edition and Unlimited, with no Shadowless print. The Edition 1 stamp under the artwork separates the scarcer 1st Edition Victreebel from the Unlimited copy. The set also has the famous No Symbol error from its first print run, which adds a premium when the lower-right set symbol is missing.

Victreebel grades on centering and edges more than surface. The card was played and traded more freely than the holos, so a clean, well-centered Victreebel is worth more than collectors assume.

For Victreebel, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Non-holo Rares from this era are cheap enough that a PSA 10 submission on a clean Victreebel can make sense.
