Numbered 206 of 230 in Obsidian Flames, released in August 2023, Varoom is an Illustration Rare, a Basic Metal-type carrying 60 HP.
As a Basic Pokémon, Varoom needs no prior evolution to put into play, which made it a practical card in the era's decks.

Varoom carries this Pokédex flavor text: "It is said that this Pokémon was born when an unknown poison Pokémon entered and inspirited an engine left at a scrap-processing factory."
What is Varoom worth?
Varoom is a holo rare, one of the cards that holds Obsidian Flames's value. The rarity tier decides most of it, since the same card prints at several tiers with very different prices. In top-grade 1st Edition, Obsidian Flames holos range from the mid hundreds for the lesser cards up to the set's marquee chase; raw and Unlimited copies trade for a fraction of that.
