Tyranitar

Tyranitar is card 31 of 75 in Neo Discovery, released in June 2001, a Rare. It is a Stage 2 Darkness-type with 100 HP.

As a Stage 2, it evolves from Pupitar, which places Tyranitar deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.

The Pokédex entry printed on Tyranitar reads: "Its body can't be harmed by any sort of attack, so it is very eager to make challenges against enemies."

A Rock-Dark pseudo-legendary. Large bipedal silhouette. One of the most-feared Generation 2 Pokémon. Neo Discovery holo Tyranitar is a marquee Generation 2 holo. Obsidian Flames Tyranitar ex revived modern collector demand.

Tyranitar is a non-holo Rare. In Neo Discovery, value concentrates in the holo rares, so a Tyranitar trades modestly, though a clean, well-centered 1st Edition copy in PSA 10 is scarcer than the print run suggests and carries a real premium. Check the live price above for the figure by grade.

Neo Discovery produced 1st Edition, Unlimited prints. For Tyranitar, the print variant can change the price several times over, so identify it before you buy.

On Tyranitar, look at the corners and the framed border first. Non-holo Rares took more handling than the chase holos, so a sharp, centered copy of Tyranitar in a true PSA 10 is harder to find than the print run suggests.

For Tyranitar, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Non-holo Rares from this era are cheap enough that a PSA 10 submission on a clean Tyranitar can make sense.
