Mudsdale · Sword & Shield, what to know.
About the Mudsdale card
Mudsdale is card 106 of 216 in Sword & Shield, released in February 2020, a Rare. It is a Stage 1 Fighting-type with 150 HP.
As a Stage 1, it evolves from Mudbray, which places Mudsdale deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.
Illustrated by Masakazu Fukuda.
The Pokédex entry printed on Mudsdale reads: "Mud that hardens around a Mudsdale's legs sets harder than stone. It's so hard that it allows this Pokémon to scrap a truck with a single kick."
What is Mudsdale worth?
Mudsdale is a non-holo Rare. In Sword & Shield, value concentrates in the holo rares, so a Mudsdale trades modestly, though a clean, well-centered 1st Edition copy in PSA 10 is scarcer than the print run suggests and carries a real premium. Check the live price above for the figure by grade.
Print variants and how to spot them
Confirm the print and finish on Mudsdale before pricing it, since variant and rarity set the market more than the card name alone.
Grading and condition
On Mudsdale, look at the corners and the framed border first. Non-holo Rares took more handling than the chase holos, so a sharp, centered copy of Mudsdale in a true PSA 10 is harder to find than the print run suggests.
If you are collecting Mudsdale
For Mudsdale, check centering by eye, edge whitening on all four sides, and surface under angled light. Submission math on Mudsdale rarely works unless the card has independent demand.
