About the Kadabra card
Kadabra is card 64 of 207 in Scarlet & Violet 151, released in September 2023, an Uncommon. It is a Stage 1 Psychic-type with 80 HP.
As a Stage 1, it evolves from Abra, which places Kadabra deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.
Illustrated by Mitsuhiro Arita. Arita painted the Base Set Charizard and much of the early holo run, and his work has a painterly weight that set the visual tone of the Wizards era.
The card's flavor text gives Kadabra a line of lore: "This Pokémon's telekinesis is immensely powerful. To prepare for evolution, Kadabra stores up psychic energy in the star on its forehead."
About Kadabra in the Pokémon world
The middle Abra stage. Notably absent from the TCG for decades due to a real-world legal dispute. Returned in 2023. Kadabra appears in Base Set then disappeared from the TCG until late 2023. The Base Set print is the only Wizards-era Kadabra and has unique cross-era collector interest because of the absence.
