Charmeleon is card 169 of 207 in Scarlet & Violet 151, released in September 2023, an Illustration Rare. It is a Stage 1 Fire-type with 100 HP.

As a Stage 1, it evolves from Charmander, which places Charmeleon deeper in its line and means most collectors hold it alongside the cards it evolves from.

The card's flavor text gives Charmeleon a line of lore: "If it becomes agitated during battle, it spouts intense flames, incinerating its surroundings."

The middle Charmander stage. Bigger, more aggressive, and notoriously hard to befriend in the games. The forgotten middle of the most famous evolution line. Charmeleon usually trades in the shadow of its evolved form. Collectors completing a Charmander to Charizard 1st Edition run pay up; standalone demand is thin.

Charmeleon is a holo rare, one of the cards that holds Scarlet & Violet 151's value. The rarity tier decides most of it, since the same card prints at several tiers with very different prices. In top-grade 1st Edition, Scarlet & Violet 151 holos range from the mid hundreds for the lesser cards up to the set's marquee chase; raw and Unlimited copies trade for a fraction of that. For graded buyers, the holo window on Charmeleon is where most points are won or lost.
